3 Tips for Giving Back on #GivingTuesday

In News

#GivingTuesday is a global day of giving on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving that has kicked off the charitable giving season for the past four years. The movement uses social media to bring together generous people and over 30,000 nonprofits in 68 countries to give back to their communities, increasing donations on that day by 470 percent. Here are three easy ways to get involved and navigate the #GivingTuesday wave.

1. Follow #GivingTuesday.

The hashtag is part of the name after all. Follow #GivingTuesday on your social media platform of choice to find a cause to support.

2. Give your time.

There are plenty of ways to give back without giving money, too. Use #GivingTuesday in your own social media presence to spread the word about a cause. Volunteer with a local nonprofit organization. Reach out and help a neighbor.

3. Find a local housing nonprofit through our advisor search.
